SKF
In spherical thrust roller bearings, the line of effect of the roller load forms an angle with the axis of the bearing. Because of this, the bearings, unlike other thrust bearings, are also suitable for carrying radial loads in addition to simultaneously acting axial loads. Self-alignment is another important feature of these bearings, so they are not sensitive to shaft bending, nor to misalignment between the shaft and the bearing housing.

Spherical thrust roller bearings are not self-retaining, so an axial washer with rollers and the housing washer can be installed separately. The bearings are suitable for carrying very high axial loads and also allow relatively high rotational speeds. |
