SKF manufactures two models of thrust ball bearings: unidirectional and bidirectional. Bidirectional thrust ball bearings are capable of supporting axial loads in both directions, and when installed as guide bearings, they can effectively guide the shaft in both directions. They should not be loaded radially. The dismountable and replaceable components facilitate installation and removal, as well as condition monitoring inspections.
