PIG Obsidian offers a comprehensive and compliant solution for the packaging, transport, and storage of lithium-ion batteries. This environmentally friendly filler, made from 100% recycled material, is designed to minimize risks associated with batteries and assist in meeting strict transport regulations. The material's unique composition is simultaneously effectively shock-absorbing, electrically non-conductive, and excellent at absorbing potential electrolyte leakage. The product's safety is based on its exceptional thermal management capability. Third-party laboratory tests have shown that PIG Obsidian keeps the outer surface temperature of the transport container significantly lower during a battery's critical thermal runaway compared to traditional vermiculite. When the material is used as part of a UN-approved packaging system, it completely insulates the battery, prevents short circuits, and ensures the battery cannot move inside the package. The material's low-dust formula makes for a more comfortable working environment, making it a more user-friendly alternative and easier on the respiratory system compared to other fillers. PIG Obsidian's technical performance has been verified by rigorous certifications. The material is classified as non-combustible according to DIN 4102-4 (A1) standard. Furthermore, the German MPA (Material Testing Institute, Dresden) has tested the material according to DIN EN 3-7:2007 standard, and it is excellently suited for Class D fire loads and fire-risk environments involving lithium-ion batteries. Although the product is primarily intended as a passive protective material for transport and storage, its technical properties offer top-tier protection even in the most demanding conditions. |
