The PIG® Obsidian absorbent pad has been developed for premium protection of lithium-ion batteries during transport and storage. The pad contains a pre-dosed amount of Obsidian engineered loose-fill material, which is packed in a durable polypropylene shell. This design minimises dust generation, improves occupational safety, and makes the packaging process significantly faster and cleaner. The product's safety features are top-tier: it is simultaneously shock-absorbing, electrically non-conductive, and non-combustible. Third-party laboratory tests have shown that the Obsidian material keeps the outer surface temperature of the packaging container significantly lower during a battery's critical thermal runaway. The pad is designed to absorb electrolyte liquids and retains its structural integrity under even the most demanding conditions. Technically, PIG Obsidian is validated by stringent certifications.
