The AFT (Active Feedback Sensing Technology) system continuously monitors the disc's rotational speed and shuts down the tool if the disc jams, preventing potential safety hazards from kickback. Safety is further enhanced by a disc brake that quickly stops the disc when the machine is turned off. The restart prevention feature prevents the motor from starting if the battery is inserted while the switch is locked. Soft start increases user comfort.

The Makita XPT system effectively protects the tool against water and dust even in the most demanding conditions.
