Battery Coolant/Glycol

This refractometer is designed to determine the freezing point of ethylene glycol (EG) or propylene glycol (PG) based cooling liquids. It can also be used to test the concentration of ethylene glycol or propylene glycol in antifreeze. In addition, the instrument has a separate scale for measuring the density of battery electrolyte (BF) and the freezing point of wash fluid (CF).

What can be measured with this device:

- Glycol-based coolants: ethylene glycol (EG) or propylene glycol (PG) - freezing point range from -50 °C to 0 °C
- Wash fluids / windscreen washer fluids (CW / CF) - freezing point range from -40 °C to 0 °C
- Battery electrolyte / other density measurements (BF - battery fluid) - density range of approximately 1.100 to 1.400 specific gravity (sg)
