Dial Gauge, Flat Back, ANSI/AGD Type

The Mitutoyo 2046A-01 is an analog, ANSI/AGD-type dial indicator with a flat back. The measuring range is 0–10 mm, the graduation is 0.01 mm and the measuring range per revolution is 1 mm; the dial reading is continuous type 0–100 / 100–0, and the outer diameter of the dial is approximately 57 mm (Series 2). The dial indicator has a 3/8"" (9.52 mm) shaft in accordance with the ANSI/AGD standard and a flat body at the back for screw or adapter mounting. The contact tip is carbide, thread 4-48 UNF. The manufacturer's stated maximum permissible measurement error over the entire 10 mm range is ±0.013 mm, and the dial indicator has MPE values ​​of 5 µm (1/10 turn), 9 µm (1/2 turn) and 10 µm (1 turn). Hysteresis and repeatability are typically 3 µm, measuring force approximately 0.4–1.4 N. There are no lead screws in the body, and the sealing of the rim and glass and the use of an O-ring limit the penetration of water and oil from the front.

The dial gauge is suitable for general length and displacement measurements in machine shops and the metal industry, when a 0–10 mm measuring range and 0.01 mm graduation for metric dimensions are required. It is used in process and final inspections in the manufacturing industry, as well as in measuring jigs and measuring tables in quality control and measurement laboratories, where the ANSI/AGD-type frame and flat-bottomed rear surface enable fixed installation. In addition, the dial gauge is suitable for maintenance and repair work for alignment, clearance and travel measurements of machines and equipment, when the dial gauge is to be attached to racks and magnetic feet using the 3/8"" shank and flat-bottomed rear frame.
