Dial Gauge, Flat Back, ISO Type

The Mitutoyo 2045AB is an analogue dial indicator according to the EN ISO standard with a flat back case. It has a measuring range of 0–5 mm, a measuring range per revolution of 1 mm and a division of 0.01 mm. The dial scale is 0–50–0 and the dial diameter is 57 mm. The dial indicator has a Ø 8 mm stem and a flat back surface, which allows mounting on various stands and jigs. The contact tip is made of carbide and has an M2.5 × 0.45 mm thread. The measuring force is approximately 0.4–1.4 N, and the maximum permissible error over the entire 5 mm range is 12 µm, as specified by the manufacturer; additionally, MPE values are defined as 5 µm (1/10 turn), 9 µm (1/2 turn) and 10 µm (1 turn), with hysteresis and repeatability up to 3 µm. There are no through-bolts in the body, and the mounting of the bezel and glass, together with the O-ring, limits the penetration of water and oil from the front. The dial indicator weighs approximately 136 g and is supplied with a certificate of inspection.

The product is suitable for machine shops and the metalworking industry for length and displacement measurements where a measuring range of 0–5 mm and 0.01 mm division is required. It is used in process and final inspection in the manufacturing industry, as well as in measuring jigs and measuring tables in quality control and measuring laboratories, where the flat back allows for fixed screw mounting. The dial indicator is also suitable for service and maintenance work on machines and equipment for alignment, clearance and range of motion measurements when using an analogue dial indicator that displays metric values.
