The Mitutoyo 2044A is an analogue dial indicator in accordance with EN ISO standards, with a measuring range of 0–5 mm and a division of 0.01 mm. The measuring range per revolution is 1 mm, and the scale on the dial is 0–100 / 100–0. The dial diameter is 57 mm. The dial indicator has a Ø 8 mm stem and a lug on the back, allowing it to be mounted on a variety of stands and measurement jigs. The contact tip is made of carbide tip and has an M2.5 × 0.45 mm thread. The measuring force is approximately 0.4–1.4 N, and the gauge has specified accuracy values; for example, the maximum allowable measurement error for the entire 5 mm range is 12 µm, and repeatability is 3 µm.

The dial indicator is suitable for general length and displacement measurements in machine shops and the metal industry, for process and final inspections in the manufacturing industry, and for use with measuring jigs and benches in quality control laboratories. Additionally, the product is used for maintenance and repair work for alignment, clearance, and travel measurements of machinery and equipment where a 0–5 mm measuring range and 0.01 mm resolution with an analogue display are required.
