The Mitutoyo 2044A-60 is an analogue dial indicator that complies with the EN ISO standard and has IP64 protection against dust and splash water. It has a measuring range of 0–5 mm, a resolution of 0.01 mm, and a measurement per revolution of 1 mm. The dial is of the continuous type, with a scale of ±0–100, and an external diameter of 57 mm. The dial indicator has a Ø 8 mm stem and a lug back for mounting. The contact point is made of carbide, with a thread of M2.5 × 0.45 mm. The measuring force is approximately 0.4–2.5 N, and the dial indicator has specified MPE values of 5 µm (1/10 turn), 9 µm (1/2 turn), 10 µm (1 turn), and 12 µm over the entire 5 mm measuring range, with maximum values for hysteresis and repeatability of up to 3 µm. The body does not have through-bolts, and the bezel/glass seal and O-ring restrict water and oil penetration from the front.

The product is suitable for machine shops and the metal industry for general length and displacement measurements, where a measuring range of 0–5 mm and a resolution of 0.01 mm for metric measurements are required. Due to its IP64 protection and specified MPE values, the dial indicator is also used in process and final inspections in the manufacturing industry, as well as in jigs and benches in quality control and measurement laboratories. Additionally, it is suitable for service and maintenance work on machines and equipment for alignment, clearance, and displacement measurements, where the dial indicator is to be fixed to magnetic feet or racks by means of a Ø 8 mm stem and lug back.
