The Mitutoyo 2046A-09 is an analogue dial gauge that complies with the EN ISO standard, featuring a lug-back and shockproof construction. It has a measuring range of 0–10 mm, a scale of 0.01 mm, and a scale per revolution of 1 mm; the dial reading is of the continuous type ±0–100, and the dial diameter is 57 mm, Series 2 size. The dial gauge has a stem of Ø 8 mm and a carbide-tipped contact tip with an M2.5 × 0.45 mm thread. The measuring force is approximately 0.4–1.4 N, and the manufacturer states maximum permissible measurement errors of 5 µm (1/10 turn), 9 µm (1/2 turn), 10 µm (1 turn), and 15 µm across the entire 10 mm measuring range; hysteresis and repeatability are up to 3 µm. There are no through-bolts in the body, and the bezel and glass sealing, along with the O-ring, limits the penetration of water and oil from the front.

The product is suitable for machine shops and the metal industry for general length and displacement measurements, where a measuring range of 0–10 mm and 0.01 mm scale with an analogue display is required. The dial gauge is used in process and final inspections in the manufacturing industry and in jigs and benches in quality control and measurement laboratories, where an EN ISO type dial gauge and specified maximum permissible error (MPE) values are required.
