Dial Gauge, Lug Back, ISO Type

The Mitutoyo 2900A-70 is a single turn analogue dial indicator with lug back and ISO type construction. The measuring range is 0–0.08 mm, the division is 0.001 mm, and the measuring range per revolution is 0.1 mm. The scale of the dial is 40–0–40 and the diameter of the dial is approximately 57 mm (Series 2). The dial indicator has a Ø 8 mm stem and a carbide contact tip with a M2.5 × 0.45 mm thread. The construction is shockproof and jewel bearing. The specified accuracy values are MPE 2 µm (1/10 turn), 3 µm for the 0.08 mm measuring range, hysteresis 2 µm, and repeatability 1 µm. The measuring force range is about 0.4–2 N and the mass of the dial indicator is about 150 g. A bezel clamping jaw and spindle lifting lever are available as options, and a bezel/glass seal and O-ring limit water and oil penetration from the front of the body.

The dial indicator is particularly suitable for small displacement measurements where a 0.001 mm pitch and 0.08 mm measuring range in a single revolution are required without the need to monitor multiple revolutions, for measuring parameters such as throw, clearance, and small deformations. Typical applications include measuring jigs, precision fixtures, and confined space measuring points in machine shops and the metal industry. Customer groups include production and quality control units in the manufacturing industry, measurement and calibration laboratories, and service and maintenance units that require an analogue, single turn dial indicator for measuring small deviations.
