Dial Gauge, Lug Back, ISO Type

The Mitutoyo 2900A-72 is a single turn, ISO-type analogue dial indicator for small movements. It has a measuring range of 0–0.08 mm, a division of 0.001 mm, and a measuring range per revolution of 0.1 mm. The scale is 40–0–40, the dial diameter is 57 mm (Series 2), and the construction is jewel bearing, shockproof, and dustproof (IP52 class). The dial gauge has an 8 mm stem and a lug back attachment for mounting on a stand or measuring jig. The contact tip is made of carbide, thread M2.5 × 0.45 mm, and the measuring force is up to about 2 N. The construction has no through-bolts in the body, and the joint between the body, bezel, glass, and O-ring limits the penetration of water and oil from the front.

The dial gauge is particularly suitable for measuring small displacements in confined spaces, for example in measuring jigs and fixtures, where a measuring range of 0.08 mm and a division of 0.001 mm per revolution are needed without requiring multiple revolution counting. Typical applications include measurements of throw, clearance, and small deformations in machine shops and metalworking industries, as well as process and final inspection and quality control measuring points in manufacturing industries.
