The Mitutoyo 7213A is a rectangular dial indicator depth gauge designed for accurate depth measurements of holes, narrow grooves, and steps. The gauge has a hardness-tempered, precision-ground, and micro-polished reference surface, which provides a very flat and reliable reference surface for measurements. This design ensures that measurement results are reproducible even when measuring small differences in depth or critical mounting dimensions.

The measuring range is 0–210 mm with a scale division of 0.01 mm. The dial indicator has a stroke length of 30 mm and an overall accuracy of ±30 µm. The flatness of the base is 5 µm, and the dimensions of the base plate are approximately 63.5 × 16 mm, making it sturdy yet easy to handle. The depth gauge is equipped with a spherical contact tip with a radius of 1.5 mm and a carbide contact surface, making the tip durable for repeated use.

The gauge is supplied with three extension rods, 30, 60, and 90 mm long, to allow flexibility in adapting the measuring range to different measuring tasks.
