The Mitutoyo 7222A is a circular-based dial indicator depth gauge designed for accurate depth measurements in grooves, pockets, and small holes. The reference surface of the stand is hardened, precision ground, and micro-lapped, ensuring that the measurements are consistently based on a very flat and reliable reference surface. The round base plate makes the tool agile to use even in tight spaces and on narrow surfaces.

The measuring range is 0-10 mm with a division accuracy of 0.01 mm. The dial gauge has a stroke length of 10 mm and an overall accuracy of ±15 µm with a base flatness of 5 µm. The depth gauge is equipped with a needle-shaped contact tip with a radius of 0.2 mm, which makes measuring in narrow grooves and small pockets easier. The instrument weighs around 165 g, making it sturdy while remaining easy to handle.
