Dial Indicator Thickness Gauge

The Mitutoyo 7300A is a dial indicator thickness gauge, specially designed for measuring the wall thickness of pipes, films, paper, and similar thin materials. The measurement is made with flat ceramic contact plates that distribute the contact force evenly and are highly resistant to abrasion. The gauge has an inch scale with a graduation accuracy of 0.001", so even small thickness differences are clearly visible on the dial. The maximum measuring depth of approximately 1.2" is sufficient for typical measuring needs of pipe and plate raw materials in production and inspection.

The design is compact and rigid in the hand: the body is designed for easy handling, and the measurement result stabilizes quickly when the ceramic contact surfaces are pressed against the measuring object. The parallelism accuracy of the measuring device is in the order of 5 µm, supporting the overall reliability of the measurement. The contact head is attached with a #4-48 UNF thread. The entire instrument weighs approximately 205 grams, making it light enough for repeated use while still feeling firm in the hand. The gauge is supplied in a box with a spindle lifting lever, allowing for a controlled and ergonomic measuring movement.

The Mitutoyo 7300A is a good choice when a mechanical thickness gauge using inch measurements is required to measure, for example, the wall thickness of pipes, the thickness of films and paper, or the dimensions of lenses and groove depths, reliably and clearly readable from a dial gauge.
