KM(L) lock nuts with metric threads are used to locate bearings onto a shaft. They have four equally spaced slots located around their circumference to accommodate an impact spanner. These lock nuts are located on the shaft with either the MB(L) lock washer. KM lock nuts can alternatively use the stronger, MB .. A lock washer. KM lock nuts can be reused, provided they are not damaged.
