Materials
7-part seal
1 - Bottom ring hard cloth-reinforced NBR rubber
2 - V-rings, three cloth-reinforced NBR rings (ø≥80 mm only one rubber V-ring)
3 - V-rings, two NBR rubber rings (ø≥140 mm all five V-rings cloth-reinforced)
4 - Hat ring, cloth-reinforced rubber or plastic
Installation
Mounted in an open groove. The nominal size of the seal is the same as the size of the groove.
The seal groove can be made adjustable with adapter rings. Adjustment margin least 5% of the groove length L.
Adapter rings are removed as the seal becomes worn.
Spring rings can be installed in the seal groove to adjust the pre-tightening of the seal.
Usually used only with larger seals.
Advantages
- Thanks to the structure of the seal, it is very resistant to pressure shocks
- Resistant to impurities in hydraulic fluid and scratches in abutments better than one-piece seals
- Good sealing due to multiple sealing lips and a long contact surface
- The seal can be cut off to help with the mounting.
