Solid oil flange bearings (oval)
Solid Oil lubricated SKF bearings are designed for use in applications where high humidity or contact with water and environmental contaminants pose problems for bearing durability. These factors, along with inadequate lubrication, account for a significant portion of premature bearing damage, which can be prevented with Solid Oil lubrication. The Solid Oil lubrication method is based on adding lubricant oil in solid form inside the bearing. Bearings containing Solid Oil are lubricated for their entire lifespan, eliminating the need for re-lubrication during their operational life.

Solid Oil is a solid polymer matrix saturated with lubricant oil, completely filling the free space of the bearing and covering the cage and rolling elements. This prevents moisture or contaminants from entering the bearing and also stops the lubricant from leaking out, even when cleaned. The polymer matrix serves as an oil reservoir, releasing oil to the rolling surfaces of the bearing as needed, ensuring effective and optimal lubrication for the entire lifespan of the bearing. The Solid Oil lubrication solution is available for the most common ball and roller bearings as well as for bearing units. Solid Oil can be identified by the W64 suffix in the bearing marking. Solid Oil is also available in food-grade versions. Features and benefits: - Maintenance-free bearing solution saves maintenance costs. - Ensures a longer service life and replacement intervals for bearings. - Helps avoid unscheduled production shutdowns. - Contains a substantial amount of lubricant oil bound within the bearing, allowing for longer performance. - Wash-resistant, does not mix with water. - Prevents lubricant leaks. |
