The dimensioning of the seal groove can be changed if the piston is slightly eccentric or the shaft bends. This may be necessary especially in low pressure hydraulics and with vacuum. If the X-ring material is likely to swell slightly, the groove width can be increased by approximately 15%. The groove dimensionings for other X-rings are indicated as required. After installation, the cross section of the X-ring is compressed. Maximum radial compression increases tightness and friction. The dimensions of the X-rings are always given as the inner diameter of the X-ring (d1) x the thickness of the material (d0). Conditions of use Pressure: Dynamic use: Back-and-forth movement: 50 bar, with support ring 300 bar Rotating movement with support ring 150 bar Static use: 50 bar without support ring 400 bar with support ring Speed: Back-and-forth movement 0.5 m/s. Rotating movement: 0.2 m/s Temperature: -35 ... +110 °C NBR -25 … +200 °C FPM |
