Mitutoyo 2900 series standard dial indicators are traditional analogue dial indicators for machine shops, maintenance, and quality control. The series includes several models with different measuring ranges and two different backs: lug back and flat back, allowing the dial indicator to be attached either to a magnetic foot from the stem or directly from the back to various measuring jigs. Dial indicators are used for checking flatness, roundness, runout, and positioning, as well as for monitoring deviations of machined parts. With a typical pitch of 0.001 mm, they are suitable for general machining and inspection work where repeatable and clear readings are required. The design is based on a measuring mechanism according to DIN 878 and a Ø 8 h6 mounting shank, which fits directly on standard magnetic feet and measuring stands.
