Refractometers
|
Refractometers are precise instruments for determining the concentration, composition and properties of liquids and solutions using the principle of light refraction. They are widely used in industry, laboratories, the food and beverage industry and in maintenance and repair work where the properties of liquids must be verified quickly and reliably. The measurement is based on the fact that the liquid changes the direction of light as it passes through the sample. Based on the angle of refraction, the refractometer calculates the measurement, such as the Brix value, glycol content, salinity or concentration of other solutions. The measurement is fast and requires only a small amount of sample.

The range includes mechanical (optical) and digital refractometers, with digital models offering an easy-to-read display and often automatic temperature compensation. Many models are suitable for field use and are rugged in construction, allowing reliable measurement even in harsh environments. Refractometers are an excellent choice for situations where rapid results are required without the need for complex laboratory procedures, for example in liquid quality control, checking mixtures or maintenance procedures. Typical applications: - Measurement of cooling and cutting fluids content - Checking glycols, AdBlue and coolants - Food and beverage industry (e.g. Brix measurements) - Process industry and laboratory analyses - Service, maintenance and field measurements. |
