Mitutoyo thickness gauges are designed for fast and accurate thickness measurement of sheet metal, strip, wire, plastic, cardboard, gaskets and other flat objects. The range includes both traditional dial gauges and Digimatic digital gauges, providing a solution for both basic measurement and documented quality control within the same product range. The group's products are distinguished primarily by their measuring range, resolution and jaw design: models are available for short and long measuring ranges, with tenths and hundredths of a millimetre resolution, and with different types of standard measuring blocks (e.g. for cylindrical, flat or tape measurement). Several models are hand-held "gauges," where the workpiece is placed between the jaws, the handle is pressed and the measurement is read directly from the dial or digital display.
